A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Abi the very proud founder, owner & dog walker of Walkies Altrincham.

In the Summer of 2023 I took time out of my then stressful & hectic corporate career of 22 years in Sales & Account Management to re-charge my batteries, reflect & think about what I wanted to do with my life going forward. I came to the conclusion I needed a change of career & one which would also bring with it a change of lifestyle. As a dog lover, someone who enjoys the out doors & always smiles at/ talks to other peoples dogs when out with my own I made the decision to set up my own local dog walking service.

I believe when you are choosing someone to take valuable care of a very loved member of your family in your absence & also trusting them with access to your home it's incredibly important to know about this person.

Here's some info about me;
​
*I'm a wife of 18 years & proud mum of two teenage daughters
*I grew up in Yorkshire surrounded by dogs from an early age
*Went to University in Manchester & never moved back over the Pennines
*Moved to Altrincham almost 16 years ago & love the area, it's a great place to call home
*2020 became besotted doggy parent to Elsie, our Cavapoo. Best decisions we ever made!!!
*When I'm not walking dogs I'm a netball mum to our eldest daughter & dance mum to our youngest, basically equates to taxi driver & watching lots of netball games
*I'm at my most happiest in the company of dogs & being outdoors exploring the great Cheshire countryside
*I enjoy a good natter
*I love coffee (especially the first of the day), a good book, blue skies, a particular small Greek Island & of course all the dogs I have the pleasure of walking

GROUP DOG WALKING
​
How Does it Work?
I collect your dog from your home or place of work at an agreed time & day.
Your dog will be transported with other dogs in an estate car, not in a crate but will be secured with a dog seatbelt.
How Long is Your Dog Out With Me?
I will walk your dog for 60 minutes, a maximum of 6 compatible dogs per group. Don't be surprised if your dog is out with me for up to 2 hours as we'll be picking up & dropping off their furry friends.

Where Do We Walk?
Our walks will be varied, stimulating, exciting & fun for your dog.
They will vary from walks along streams, through wooded areas, country lanes and large fields.
Building Trust
To your dog, when I first start walking them I'm pretty much a stranger. Someone they've met once in the comfort & safety of their own home who then returns on a different day to take them for a walk. Your dog maybe wary, nervous, unsure & possibly a little scared. This is why I work hard to build trust, ensure they feel safe & happy when they are with me. History has proven it doesn't take long for this to happen, just read my testimonials.
I treat all dogs I have the pleasure of walking like my very own!

On or Off The Lead?
Only with your permission & if I thinks it's safe for your dog will I let them off the lead. Some owners prefer their dog to be kept on the lead at all times for various reasons and that's fine, it doesn't stop them enjoying their walk.

During the Walk?
During our walk your dog will be sniffing, exploring, playing, chasing their furry friends or happily wandering along. We will walk in all weathers (unless it's not safe), if your dog has a waterproof or warm coat, leave it out & I'll happily pop it on when I collect and take off when I return home.
After our walk if required your dog will have their paws & belly rinsed off and get a good rub down to dry off/ clean as much as possible.

Home Time
At the end of our walk I return your dog to home or place of work and safely leave them as per your instructions - if you want me to put their food down for them/ top up their water, no problem, just let me know.
​
Your dog will be tired by the end of our walk, ready to curl up and sleep!

What's the Cost?
£15.00 one dog per household
£25.00 two dogs per household

What Day of The Week Can I Walk Your Dog?
The majority of dog walks take place Monday to Friday but I am available Saturday and Sunday & can walk your dog in the evening if required.
